The DOE understands that this year’s school opening will be unlike any other. In order to support families, clear and consistent communication will continue to be a priority. The Family Engagement Toolkit is designed to help support school staff with family engagement efforts related to the 2020–21 school year opening, and will include guidance, strategies, and resources. Schools can modify the toolkit templates to meet their needs. Please review the toolkit and use the guidance as you support families.

Let’s Learn NYC! June Schedule

We’re excited to announce the return of “Let’s Learn NYC!,” the City’s very own educational program for kids, produced by WNET/THIRTEEN in partnership with the NYC Department of Education.

After making its debut earlier this year to supplement the City’s transition to remote instruction, “Let’s Learn NYC!” will now air new episodes on weekdays at 12 p.m. (E.S.T.) from now until Friday, August 28. Each episode features lessons for children in grades 3–K through 2 and focuses on developing foundational reading skills as well as subjects like science, music, and social studies.

To learn more about Let’s Learn NYC! and to watch previously-aired episodes, check out THIRTEEN’s program webpage, and don’t forget to check out new episodes every Monday – Friday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on your local THIRTEEN channel!
